We are so blessed to have stayed at some phenomenal caravan parks that are great for kids like Adventure Whitsundays with the most AMAZING waterpark, North Star Holiday Resort in Hastings with the adults only retreat (with heated lap pool, plunge pool, 2 spas, a gym and a sauna), a salon (hair and massage!) and Neptunes Castle which is a child minding area (sooo very cool).
There’s River Shore at Bli Bli with a huge super-wide water slide, Helensvale with a windy waterslide, a spa and flames that light up the pool at night, and of course who could forget Cairns Coconut Holiday Park with 2 huge pools, an adults only pool, a water park and the coolest 8 person bike? Not to mention Yeppoon, Cotton Tree … and, well, I could go on for pages. Our kids LOVE these parks (and so do we)!
We have also loved the time we’ve spent at certain caravan parks due to the location and atmosphere more than what the actual park has to offer. The absolute beach frontage of the caravan park at Bowen is fabulous, even though the park is small (but extremely well maintained with a lovely little pool). Etty Bay is one of our favorite places even though the caravan park would probbaly be one of the worst! Cape Hillsborough had kangaroos wandering through the park grounds which was far more entertaining than the swimming pool at the park. Even the teeny tiny park we stayed at in Chillagoe was great fun! We were the only van parked there, the bugs in the bathrooms were ginormous and the pool was tiny. But we had a blast.
We’d love to share our experiences at these caravan parks with you … and we will be honest! We will share the good, the noisy and the uneven sites :P
